Losing Lynne…
Courage is not the absence of fear, but simply moving on with dignity despite that fear. – Pat Riley

Thank you Brandon for doing another weekend warrior challenge.  The last time you did the challenge I found it so beneficial to me.   The weekends are such a rough time.  I get so busy and usually my eating and activity level suffer.

Well…  moving right along.  I have committed to completing the following this weekend to maintain my position as WEEKEND WARRIOR:

1. On Saturday I am going to complete the following in the gym: 1 round of C25K week #2 workout #3 (this will be about 30 minutes total) I will then ride the bike for 30 minutes and I will then do the elliptical for 30 minutes. This will also help me fulfill my commitment to match Mary’s workout pledge .

2. I will consume NO CANDY ON EASTER DAY.  Sorry Easter Bunny.  I don’t want to sound ungrateful but I just don’t need that crap.

3. On Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning I will take my 5 year old daughter to the park. I run around a bit with her sometimes but this time I am going to get her to ride her bike around the path surrounding the playground while I run. I’m also going to try to get her to start running with me. This will help me get her move active and will help me also stay more active while she plays.

I’m excited about this.

And now for an update on the fitness challenge that I did through work along with Josie and others.  Drum roll please…  total weight lost for our entire team was 108 pounds.  Not only this but  it looks like our team probably ranked 2nd or 3rd overall for team prizes.  And it gets better.  It looks like 4 of our 5 team mates very possibly made it into the top 10 for individual prizes.  That means that out of 160 people 4  of us made it into the top 10 for our individual weight loss.  I’m so stinking proud of our team.  I personally lost 22 pounds.  You may recall me kind of poo poo-oing about this the other day because I wanted to lose more. Well…  I have since gotten over myself and am quite proud.  Extreme Makeover: Bootie Edition (our team name) kicked some serious bootie over the past 12 weeks.

And onto some REALLY COOL NEWS.  My best friend Mindy and I are going to co-host a 6 week weight loss challenge amongst our friends.  We are calling the challenge “Mission: Slimpossible”.  Mindy came up with the name and I think it totally rocks.  Look!  We have a graphic and everything!  I think that makes us super duper important and stuff!  The kick off is Tax Day.  I am really looking forward to doing this with Mindy.  I’ve never done anything like this before so wish us luck!  I wish I could invite all of you but right now it’s just people local to here because of logistics.  Maybe some day we could do something like this.  It sure would be cool but I just don’t know how it would work with the distance between all of us.

Well I think it’s about time to wrap this up.

WAIT!!!!! …  I ALMOST FORGOT IT’S APRIL 1ST!!!!  That means it’s time for me to report how I did this past quarter on my plan to lost weight in 2010.  I can’t believe I almost wrapped this up without doing that.  Gees…

Short Term Goals 1st Quarter (1/1/10 – 3/31/10):

  1. Weight Loss – Lose a minimum of 16 pounds by 3/31/10  -Results: Lost 22 pounds.  ON TARGET!
  2. Physical Activity Goals:
    1. Walk 88 miles by 3/31/10.  Results: Walked 129 miles.  ON TARGET!
    2. By 3/31/10 be able to jog with a sustained heart rate of 152 beats / minute for a minimum of 3 minutes. (on treadmill at 3.8 miles/hour).  Results: Averaging around 160-165 BPM.  It’s not where I want it to be but it’s so much better than the 170 BPM I was getting in January.  I’ll take it!
    3. Exercise at least 30 minutes for a minimum of 67 days by 3/31/10.  This equates to 5 days per week.  Results: Exercised 67 times EXACTLY.  ON TARGET!

Mission: Slimpossible sounds really cool! Great logo!

No chocolate? My fellow warriors have much more will power than me. I figure I have to run about a mile for every mini-bunny I kill so I am looking at a 35 mile week.
